LATEST KITTEN ARRIVALS

LATEST KITTEN ARRIVALS
A lady stall holder at Mae Hia Market found these tiny kittens with their mother. Unbelievably, she threw a pan of boiling water over the mother cat. The cat ran off but we expect that she died very quickly from her terrible injuries (she was never found). Shocked stall holders nearby tried to do their best for these week old kittens but were feeding them on cows milk and they were not doing well at all. (Cows milk usually gives kittens diarrhoea) By the time we were informed, 2 days later, the kittens were dehydrated and covered in ants. They’ve now safe and getting hourly feeds of goats milk, which is much better for them. So far they are doing well. If you can donate goats milk to us we would be very grateful! They drink a can a day between them at the moment, and will need this for about another 3 to 4 weeks. If you live in Chiang Mai, 1 can costs 52baht in good pet shops.. Or ESBILAC dried milk from good Vet Clinics – 990 baht for a BIG tin. We would Really appreciate the help! Collection may be possible from the inner city area (our shelter is in Doi Saket) call 0871 89 1623

Sua and Singh start a new life at the shelter

Written by admin. Posted in Dog and Cat Rescue Story

Sua and Sing have started new lives at the shelter. They are so excited and enthusiastic to practise walking with wheel chairs. Singh walked so fast with her two front legs. As soon as we put her on the wheel chair, off she went. She seemed a bit frightened at the beginning but in the end she is happy to walk again. Sua at the same time, a bit less enthusiastic but as he was taken off from the wheel chair he moved so fast with his front legs and tried to lift his rear legs. He even tried to make friends with other dogs and cats. It is a new world for them and we are so happy to see them to live happily ever after. If you want to support Sua and Singh for medical bill and wheel chairs which will be around 26 000 bht, please log in our website www.santisookdogsandcats.org and click donate. You money will help Sua and Singh to have a better new lives which they deserve.

Kittens kept in Squalor

Rescued from squalor

Rescued from squalor

These kittens were being kept in the most disgraceful conditions. They had been taken to a warehouse so they could catch mice and were being kept in this horrible dirty cage with dirty water and having to eat rice off old newspapers. The people were surprised when we told them these conditions were ‘unsuitable’, they thought they were giving the best care .

The people got the kittens to catch mice in their store room – so they wanted them! They were keeping them in this cage “till they are big enough to catch mice”

The kittens are only about 8 weeks old and they’ve lived here for 3 weeks..
