Nam Daeng, new arrival from Tak

Written by admin. Posted in Information news

Our new member has arrived from Tak Province, his name is Nong Nam Daeng. Nam Daeng was hit by a car and paralyzed from the hip. He can not walk on his own and need wheel chair. Khun Wan had been taking care of him for a while and she has to move to Chiang Mai which means nobody will take care of him. Nam Daeng used to live at the Tak municipality’s office. Khun Wan contacted us and asked for help in taking care of Nong Nam Daeng. She had tried everywhere to find somebody to take care of him but with no success. When we heard about his sad story, we feel so sympathy of him. With his physical condition, he won’t survive by himself. We have decided to take him in our care even we’ve already had more than 300 dogs to look after. We will look after him and give him a new life and hope to live for. He needs to be on wheel chair twice a day to prevent pressure sores. Please help Nam Daeng by donating for his treatment and care through our website:

Found Dog

Written by admin. Posted in Information news

Found Dog …… around Wat Ram Poeng in Suthep, right off Canal Road, this little dog been around here for the last 2 weeks.
I have been feeding him but I am not able to keep him since our apartment building does not allow pets, and other reasons that I can not mention here.
Please help find his owner.
The reason I think he is lost is that there is still the mark of a former collar around his neck, ( the impression on the hair around his neck where the collar used to be, it looks like ) but it probably just came off.

Rescued operation

We have been contacted by a lady who took photos of dogs and cats cramped in a small cage. Khun Lek of Santisook Dog and Cat Foundation and Khun Sanya who is a founder of Animal Welfare Centre, went to investigate as this case is considered as cruelty to animals. As you can see from the photos, the cage is put on the corner of the street in front of the house. We saw 2 poodles jumping up and down and desperate to come out from the cage. Behind the dogs, we could see 4 cats clinging to each others and when we stood in front of the cage, they made a very loud noise and tried to get out. Inside the cage, there was a tray with rotten food and a bad smell. There were dogs and cats’ waste inside the cages. It looked like this cage had never been cleaned. We spoke to the owner, who said these cats are not hers, she has been feeding them and keeping them in the cage as she was afraid they will be poisoned. We said to her that it’s cruel to animals to put them in a small dirty cage as dogs and cats should be separated and have a free space to walk around. Their conditions are very poor and unhygienic, the kittens looked sick and unhealthy. We took all the cats, the kittens and the two dogs for vaccination and health check. The kittens have distemper and two of them have already died. The four cats are under care of Santisook. Please consider to provide good homes for these cats as they have been terrible treat and they deserve to have loving homes. The dogs have been vaccinated and took them back to the owner as she insisted that she wanted to look after them and improve their condition. . We will go back to check again whether the owner has improved their condition, otherwise we will take another step to take them away.

We found Tao on the side of the road around Wat Huai Sai, Amphor Suthep. He was in a very bad condition, lack of nutrition and severe skin problem. We took him to the VET to check, he had a blood parasite and bad mange on his skin. After he had been treated for the mange and blood parasite for 2 months, his hair was growing back a bit by a bit and he had put on weight. Now he is healthy handsome dog with beautiful hair.
